WREKtacular 2013 marks 45 years of 'quality diverse radio'

The Purkinje Shift, Magicicada, Cicada Rhythm, and Good Golly Svengali round out a solid local lineup for the 2013 WREKtacular benefit concert

Image In March, Georgia Tech's 91.1 FM/WREK will celebrate the 45th anniversary of its first broadcast. If we were talking marriage here, 45 years would make this the station's sapphire anniversary.

WREK first hit the airwaves on March 25, 1968, and in honor of this great date in college radio history the annual WREKtacular benefit concert is happening on Saturday, March 30 at the Drunken Unicorn . The Purkinje Shift, Magicicada, Cicada Rhythm, and Good Golly Svengali are all on the bill, rounding out a solid local lineup.
