Atlanta's favorite trapper releases a new single with a different message

Young Jeezy's new single "Shake Life" just hit the airwaves yesterday and it looks like he's switching things up a bit. Though he's always envisioned himself the streets' motivational speaker, Jeezy has a new message that's actually a breath of fresh air. The single that samples Toto's 1978 hit "Georgy Porgy" (sampled in 1991 by MC Lyte for the song "Poor Georgie," and remade in 1999 by sultry singers Eric Benet and Faith Evans) talks about the haters, money, popping bottles, and of course a subliminal cannabis reference. But the real message is to just cherish life. On top of the melodic beat that seems more suitable for loungin' than trappin', the Atlanta-based MC rhymes "I know it look bad/It's gone be alright." Whether you believe him or not, it'll be interesting to see if this single builds some much-needed anticipation for his next album TM103.
