Attenchun! He's Getting fit
Bone Crusher
Adamsville-reared rapper Bone Crusher (né Wayne Hardnett) is hoping that 2006 will be his biggest year yet, even if his scale ends up saying otherwise. As his second album Release the Beast (the follow-up to 2003's AttenCHUN!) is due to drop July 18, he has come up with an ingenious marketing tactic: Drop as many pounds as possible. He will appear on the fourth season of VH1's "Celebrity Fit Club," which debuts July 30. Other notable participants (the ones we've heard of) include singers Carnie Wilson and Angie Stone as well as actors Vincent Pastore (the late "Big Pussy" from "The Sopranos") and Ted Lange (Isaac on "The Love Boat").

Despite being largely known for the monster crunk club jam-turned-sports anthem "Never Scared," Bone Crusher just might have met his intimidating match in Harvey Walden IV, "Fit Club's" militant drill sergeant who never wavers as he tough-loves everyone down to their most beautiful bodies. After all, last season, rapper Bizarre — who coincidentally also makes his home in the ATL and is no less hardened than Bone Crusher — admitted on the air that Walden's voice barking out that week's weight loss goal penetrated his dreams at night.

Still, Bone Crusher seems more than willing to put it all on the line to get the word out about his new album (released through boxer Roy Jones Jr.'s Body Head Entertainment) and his own modestly named label, Vainglorious Entertainment. Vainglorious was conceived eight years ago but is properly launching this year with releases from new artists Priscila Devine, Sean Falyon, and Tezy & Yung 20. After all, what's he got to lose except himself?
