Leggo My Logo

When seen branded on shirts and shoulders, great band logos leave everything and nothing to the imagination. They are suggestive icons that say street fightin’ man or social activist as quickly as they do like-minded music fan. These vibrant and often violent imprints represent, and sometimes almost eclipse, the music. Take, for example, the “heartagram” emblem of H.I.M. (His Infernal Majesty), playing Masquerade on Wed., Nov. 2. Even those who haven’t heard the Finnish “love metal” group can infer a melding of crunchy “razor-blade romance.” Here are three other logos that sell merchandise as well as they sell the bands’ intentions:

??
1) Rolling Stones

??
2) Misfits

??
3) Public Enemy
