Patty Loveless

On Sat., Sept. 17, the Georgia Music Hall of Fame inducts Kentucky native and longtime Dallas, Ga., resident Patty Loveless. Loveless has a slew of hits and a veritable gold mine of great tracks across her catalog, including:

??
1) “If My Heart Had Windows” — Loveless makes this Dallas Frazer-penned tune her own with a perfect mix of adoration and sincerity. Even George “the Possum” Jones didn’t top this one when he covered it.

??
2) “You’ll Never Leave Harlan Alive” — Returning to her Kentucky bluegrass roots on the masterpiece album Mountain Soul, Loveless brings the traditional Appalachian sound into the 21st century in this gothic tale of loss and struggle.

??
3) “I’m That Kind of Girl” — Showing a bit of her “wild side”, Loveless belts out a declaration of pride and a sense of identity that gets you moving and leaves you wishing she was (that kind of girl).

??
4) “You Don’t Seem to Miss Me” — As one of country music’s most sought after duet singers, Loveless has worked with some of the best: Dwight Yoakam, Vince Gill, and on this stone-cold classic, she shares the microphone with the legendary George Jones.

??
5) “Keep Your Distance” — Proving that a great song is a great song regardless of genre, Loveless turns this Richard Thompson jewel into a full-blown hillbilly holler.
