Elton John’s new flava

Success in the ‘hood?

Elton John recently spoke to Rolling Stone and expressed his desire to start making hip-hop records. John said he’d like to bring his melodies to hip-hop beats and collaborate with the likes of Dr. Dre, Pharrell, Timbaland, Snoop Dogg, Kanye West and Eminem to name a few. While Sir Elton is already regarded as one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time for his prolific body of work in the rock ‘n’ roll and pop genres, some are skeptical about the success he’ll have in the ‘hood. Personally, I’m just wondering what the hell took him so long. He successfully teamed up with Eminem at the 2001 Grammys when they performed “Stan,” and several of his old songs already have hip-hop appeal — if you tweak the names slightly. Here are the real life top five Elton John songs with a hip-hop twist:

??
1) “Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me (unless Sun Is a Stripper from Magic City)”

??
2) “Can You Feel the Love Up In this Mothafucka?”

??
3) “Escalade Man” — I think it’s gonna be a long, long drive.

??
4) “Tiny Video-Ho”

??
5) “Hennie and the Sex” — Can’t you hear the chorus? “Hennie, Hennie, Hennie, Hennie, Hennie and the seeeeeex.”
