News - Take action with the IAC

The International Action Center is a volunteer organization that works to educate and mobilize the community to take action against war, occupation, racism, poverty and repression. Among the topics up for discussion at the IAC's weekly meeting Sun., July 17, will be the city of Atlanta's proposed ban on panhandling downtown; other local "quality of life" laws, such as a minimum, citywide living wage; and the vacancy created on the U.S. Supreme Court by retiring Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. The group will also spend time planning for the Sept. 24 national anti-war demonstration, which will be held in Washington, D.C.

The International Action Center's weekly meeting will be held at the Little Five Points Community Center, 1083 Austin Ave., from 7-9 p.m. For more info, call 770-989-2536, e-mail atlantaiac@aol.com, or visit www.iacenter.org.??
