Cover Story: Drivin’ n’ cryin’ family tree

When Kevn Kinney moved to Atlanta from Milwaukee in the mid-’80s, he began paving the road for the institution known as drivin’ n’ cryin’. Originally built from a series of loose gatherings, the DNC highway is still under construction, jammed with collaborations and side-projects. This family tree illustrates just some of the working relationships that tie DNC to the music scenes of Atlanta, Athens and beyond.
