See & Do - Music: Drivin’ n Cryin’ September 18 2009

Tues., Sept. 29

Sure, DRIVIN’ N CRYIN’ is about two decades past its prime, but the group’s a local music institution. So what are you gonna do? With The Great American Bubble Factory, Kevn Kinney spearheads the band’s first album in 12 years with his best Bon Scott impersonation. The album is a bit hopped up on schmaltzy Americana, but if you can stomach the new stuff, you’re bound to get a faceful of edgier old numbers as well. $20. 8 p.m. Smith’s Olde Bar, 1578 Piedmont Ave. 404-875-1522. www.smithsoldebar.com.
