Atlanta Jewish Film Festival
The ATLANTA JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL, Atlanta's largest film fest, returns for its ninth year with a slew of cinematic gems that explore all things Jewish, beginning Wed., JAN. 14. The lineup – 36 international films spanning 12 days – includes Lemon Tree, starring The Visitor's Hiam Abbass, about a Palestinian widow's struggle with her stubborn Israeli neighbor; Bart Got a Room, a comic look at teen angst in a South Florida retirement community, with William H. C. Macy and Cheryl Hines; Diamond Road, a poignant exploration of the historical, cultural and sociopolitical facets of the diamond trade, particularly the intrinsic role of Jewish merchants; and Sundance winner Strangers, about an accidental meeting that sparks an improbable romance.
