The Blotter: Dazed and confused July 30 2007

Around 4:45 a.m., an officer saw a man beating, kicking and pulling on a glass door of a bank on Peachtree Road. Then, the man removed a sandal from his foot, and started beating the door with the sandal. The officer told the man to stop. The man said he was trying to get inside his hotel, but someone had locked him out. The officer asked him for ID. He said the man returned to the bank door and knocked again. The officer asked, “Have you been drinking?” “Yes,” the man replied. The officer said, “Stop knocking on the bank door.” This time the man stopped. He was arrested for disorderly conduct under the influence. The man, age 25, hails from Elgin, Ill. He told police he was staying at a hotel close to I-285, which is nowhere near the bank in Buckhead.
