Time and Place: Music Midtown crowd

Are you in this photograph?

? Music photographers sometimes forget that while we are capturing images of the band standing on the the stage, there is another world with thousands of fans behind us. This photograph was taken on the first day of Music Midtown right before Kodaline took the Electric Ballroom Stage. The band had allowed me to photograph their first few songs from on the stage. While waiting for them to come on, I moved to the front of the stage to take a few photos of the crowd. As soon as I raised my camera, the crowd reacted with screams hoping to be a part of my photograph. For me it was a taste of what these musicians feel as they perform in front of their fans. In my case, these weren’t my fans, but rather hundreds of people who wanted to be recorded by my camera and have their own personal moment of fame.
