Profile: Margaret Shepherd McPherson, Rockette

Atlanta-born Margaret Shepherd McPherson has been a Rockette for five productions of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, which is being performed at the Fox Theatre through Dec. 6.
So an Atlanta native, huh?
I just moved back from NYC. I lived there for the past five years.
What is being a Rockette like?
It’s so exciting. Each year I find out where I’ll be performing, and this year when I found out we were going back to the Fox Theatre I had to be in that cast! We rehearse for three and half weeks prior to opening night, so it’s very exciting to finally have an audience.
I grew up dancing at the Fox Theatre with the Atlanta Ballet Company, so it’s fun for all my friends and family to come see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. It’s a lot different than the ballet!
