Castleberry Hill to get a grocery store - finally

Walkable community to get even more walkable?

What Now, Atlanta? reports that Castleberry Hill will finally have a market where people can buy something called "food" that can be "prepared at home." And it's not a Kroger or Publix — it's a chain that's apparently new to Georgia called Acme Grocery even better, it's an independently owned business called the Boxcar Grocer. (See update below). So says WNA's Caleb Spivak:

The now shuttered Kim Miller’s Hair Gallery at 249 Peters Street next door to Off The Hook Barber Shop will house the grocer, according to a building permit filed with the city of Atlanta Monday.

Residents up there could use the addition. My friends in the walkable 'hood have long bemoaned the lack of grocery stores within walking distance.

UPDATE, 12:31 p.m.: A Castleberry Hill resident sends word via email:

Castleberry Hill is very excited about this new addition to our neighborhood! Unfortunately, a few of things stated in the article are incorrect. The owners, of the building and grocery store, have confirmed that the store will be called The Boxcar Grocer. It will be an independently owned and operated business and is not affiliated with a chain or the ACME stores.
