2014 Art on the Atlanta Beltline artists announced

The largest temporary public art exhibition in the southeast returns to Atlanta this fall in Art on the Atlanta Beltline, which will run from Sept. 6 through Nov. 15. Now in its fifth year, Art on the Atlanta Beltine transforms the paved and interim hiking trails into an outdoor gallery space, featuring works of both visual and performing art.
Out of the 240 art proposals submitted for consideration, a selection panel chose nearly 100 visual and performance pieces to be featured. The selected installations will accompany the permanent art found on the Beltline. The installations are meant to exemplify "the transformative nature of Atlanta's largest redevelopment program."

"The Atlanta BeltLine is presenting public art on an entirely new scale for Atlanta," Paul Morris, President and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, Inc. said via press release. "This year, with the help of our incredible partners and sponsors, we are able to bring more art and artists than ever to the Atlanta Beltline. We are looking forward to making year five of Art on the Atlanta Beltline the best yet."
The exhibit will officially launch on the evening of Sept. 6 with the Atlanta Beltline Lantern Parade.

Folks interested in seeing the most art should migrate toward the following areas, where visual installations and performances will be most concentrated: the northern Eastside interim hiking trail (between Montgomery Ferry Road and Monroe Drive); the Eastside Trail (between Monroe Drive and Irwin Street); Eastside interim hiking trail (between Wylie Street and Memorial Drive in Reynoldstown); the Westside Trail (between Washington Park and Allene Avenue in southwest Atlanta).
