2. Cobb's Board of Commissioners has voted to establish the county's first mental health court. It's expected to operate to similar accountability courts, like Cobb's drug DUI courts, providing alternatives to incarceration for offenders who aren't legally insane, but still suffer from mental illness.
3. Zoo Atlanta is celebrating the world's oldest known living male gorilla this morning. Ozzie turned 52 on Wednesday.
4. Blackstone Group, one of the largest investors in residential real estate in the country, bought 1,400 properties around Atlanta in what Bloomberg is calling the biggest bulk purchase to date in the growing homes-for-lease trend. Firms have been buying up thousands of properties around the metro area over the past year, fixing them up, and renting them out in a bid to make bank off the rental income.
