Waka Flocka Flame involved in Walter's gunfire incident (1)
Police say rapper's private security fired shot after attackers brandished weapon
Atlanta Police say local rapper Waka Flocka Flame and his entourage were involved in a late Thursday afternoon altercation at a downtown Atlanta clothing store that ended with a gunshot - but no injuries.
Officer James Polite says a group of men including Flocka - whose real name is Juaquin Malphurs - entered Walter's Clothing on Decatur Street around 4:15 p.m. to shop.
Another group of men entered the store, approached the rapper's group, and a physical altercation took place, Polite says. During the tussle, a man from that group brandished a gun. Flocka's private security guard then pulled out a gun and fired a shot, which did not hit anyone.
Polite says Flocka's private security guard has been detained and is being questioned by police.
In January, Flocka was shot in the arm at a carwash near Old National Highway. It's unclear whether the suspect in that shooting, who fled the scene, was ever apprehended.
