CL staff writer Thomas Wheatley reported that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport released a list of restaurants and businesses recommended to fill the spaces in the nation’s busiest aviation hub earlier this morning. The list of recommendations will now await approval from The Atlanta City Council.

The odd assortment includes restaurants from all over the spectrum. Home town notables like Ecco, Yeah Burger!, Varasano’s Pizzeria, Grindhouse Killer Burgers, The original El Taco, Piece of Cake, Sweet on Georgia Candy Bar, Georgia Grown, The Varsity, and Rolling Bones BBQ are thrown in side-by-side with uber-corporate Chick-fil-A, Shane’s Rib Shack, and Chipotle. Oh, and don’t forget the Atl icon you never knew was an icon: Duluth’s very own Chicken & Beer.

By including more local, Atlanta-based restaurants, Aviation General Manager Louis Miller says he hopes “to capture the look, feel and spirit of our city and region.”
