I’ve been surprised how many friends haven’t seen the director’s cut of Kate Upton’s latest advertisement for Hardee’s and Carl’s Junior. It’s getting renewed attention since Upton is on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue.

Just in case you’re among my friends — especially if you don’t believe food and the erotic maintain an intimate connection — here it is. Of course, you could just dismiss it as an example of the longtime Madison-Avenue bromide that “sex sells,” whatever the product. But it sure ain’t subliminal and, really, the broadcast version isn’t much tamer, just abbreviated.
