Omnivore - Arby's healthier than Subway?

And a thimble of Coke is less fattening than a glassful

Image Here's a near-shocker — at least at first. The Daily Meal reports that the least calorific fast-food sandwich in America is Arby's Jr.Roast Beef Sandwich. It ties with Panera Bread's best but beats Subway, which makes much of its healthy alternatives.

The criteria: "Based on a daily diet of 1,800-2,000 calories, a reasonably nutritious lunch should weigh in around 500 calories (about 400 calories for a sandwich, 100 calories for sides and a drink), 15 grams of fat, 4.5 grams of saturated fat and 680 milligrams of sodium."

The Arby's Jr. sandwich weighs in at a skinny 210 calories. Amazing. But, hello? Shouldn't the Daily Meal mention that it is on the kids' menu?

Check out the story's slide show for specific findings, which are interesting nonetheless. Here are a few examples:

Arby's - Tying with more reputedly healthy picks like Panera, this roast beef sandwich giant has three menu items that stack up as healthy sandwich options:
o Jr. Roast Beef Sandwich (210 calories, 60 calories from fat, 6 grams total fat, 2 grams saturated fat, 520 milligrams sodium)

Subway - Although this chain is considered to be at the forefront of healthy fast-food dining, it only has two sandwiches that fit the bill:
o Six-Inch Oven-Roasted Chicken Sub (320 calories, 40 calories from fat, 5 grams total fat, 1.5 grams saturated fat, 640 milligrams sodium)
o Six-Inch Veggie Delite Sub (230 calories, 20 calories from fat, 2.5 grams total fat, 0.5 grams saturated fat, 310 milligrams sodium)
