Omnivore - Bargain-basement goat at Kroger

The store is also cleaning up its meat suppliers

Apparently, goat - even farm-fresh goat - is not a big seller at the Ansley Kroger. If you didn't know, the Kroger there and presumably other stores have a hidden-away bin that is often filled with pretty radically reduced meat.

And you don't have to worry that any of it contains pink slime. Kroger has banned it. The store also recently announced that it will no longer buy pork from suppliers using inhumane "gestation crates."

What I want to know is why Kroger's apples totally suck compared to Publix's.
