The word heritage resonates with the Sweet Auburn community as the area fought to stay strong during the Civil Rights Movement. Sweet Auburn Bread Company, nestled in the heart of the historical Sweet Auburn district, holds fast to the idea of heritage. The bakery, open since 1997, has been whipping up traditional southern delights like sweet potato pie, pound cakes, and triple-layer cakes.

The mastermind behind the bakery, chef Sonya Jones, will be featuring her new book, “Sweet Auburn Desserts: Atlanta’s Little Bakery That Could”, at the Decatur Library Auditorium on Mon., June 18th.

The free event will host a meet and greet with the chef and offer a few samples of the bakery’s treats.
