BOOMING: Every Sunday, and sometimes weekdays, I take up one of the two tables at Grant Park Coffee House to work on my book, as I’ve written before. Business appears to be booming, and for good reason. Huge sandwiches are $6 each and house-made pastries like Turkish-apricot scones are barely a couple of dollars. There are breakfast “pockets” full of eggs and meats or tofu, and bowls of cheese-grits. If you live in Grant Park or you’re visiting the zoo across the street, definitely give it a try. Even the ice cream is good, as any of the stream of kids will tell you.
