Regular readers may recall that I've written several articles and posts about misophonia, a disorder that makes listening to people's eating sounds (among others) unbearable. I've had it since I was a kid.

As it turns out, the infamous Dr. Phil also suffers from the condition. Like me, he didn't learn until recently that his peculiar sensitivity is a literal disorder.

CHEAP MIDTOWN MEALS: I lunched with five friends Friday at Roxx on Cheshire Bridge. My favorite there remains the chopped steak with onion gravy...I also hit the nearby Hong Kong Harbour with four friends last week. I ordered my usual fried tofu stuffed with pork and shrimp, while pleading with my friends to order something beside Chinese-American dishes. I was successful, but they shrugged anyway....

GOOD SANDWICHES: Grant Park Coffee House produces a huge wrap full of tomatoes and avocado for $6...Had the highly regarded burger at Bocado last week. Honestly, the flavor of the beef wasn't up to my past experience. Maybe my palate was extra-picky. Still, I love this place....

REQUEST TO SERVERS AND CUSTOMERS: I'm writing a column about boundaries in server-diner interactions. If you're a server and encounter flirtatious or otherwise inappropriate customers, please contact me. Ditto if you're a customer who has felt a server was inappropriate, please contact me: Cliff Bostock. I am happy to provide anonymity to anyone who desires it.
