Quick Bites: Buttermilk Kitchen to open, upscale gastropub replaces Hill Street Tavern, and more

- COUNTRY KITCHEN: Buttermilk Kitchen to open Oct. 9
Buttermilk Kitchen, located at 4225 Roswell Road, will open tomorrow morning (Tues., Oct. 9) at 7 a.m. Prior to Buttermilk, Chef and owner Suzanne Vizethann co-ran The Hungry Peach catering company and cafe before winnging Food Network’s television series Chopped in 2011. Buttermilk Kitchen will be open for breakfast and lunch daily while focusing on local and sustainable ingredients.
Foundation, a new restaurant in Inman Park is scheduled to open in the winter of 2013 on Dekalb Ave. Foundation will be helmed by executive chef Mel Toledo (formerly of Bacchanalia and NY's Restaurant Daniel), Eater reports.
Ink & Elm, a new lounge/restaurant/tavern, is scheduled to open in Emory Village in early winter 2013. Under the direction of executive chef Stephen Sharp, currently executive chef at Blue Ridge Grille, Ink & Elm will feature "elevated" Southern cuisine by blending modern and traditional techniques, according to a press release.
In case you missed it, in addition to new fall programming, the Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market has also introduced new fall hours: Lunch: Thurs.-Sun., 11 a.m.-4 p.m.; Dinner: Wed.-Sat., 5-9 p.m.
The Optimist was recently named Esquire magazine's Best New Restaurant of 2012.
