- Nikolai's Roof reopens today at the Hilton Atlanta.
After a three-month hiatus to undergo renovations, Nikolai's Roof, the eatery on the 30th floor of the Hilton Atlanta hotel, reopens today at 255 Courtland St. The French- and Russian-centric restaurant with panoramic views was founded in 1976 and has been a staple in the city for decades. The refreshed interior will reveal a cool gray-and-cream color scheme reminiscent of Russian winters, as well as fresh and contemporary menu items from chef de cuisine Stephanie Alderete.
Kirkwood's scratch bakery, market, and cafe Le Petit Marche is moving to a long-planned larger location across the street today. After six years in comparatively compact digs at 1963 Hosea L. Williams Drive, success and growth has necessitated nearly twice the square footage to serve loyal customers of the neighborhood.

Former Land of a Thousand Hills and Empire State South barista Jonathan Pascual is readying to open an autonomous concept, Taproom Coffee, in Kirkwood this spring. The grassroots concept is slated to be a neighborhood haven for craft beer and Counter Culture Coffee fans. Pascual's state-of-the-art Beerspresso machine is also something to look forward to. Leading up to the opening, the latte artist has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund renovations to the 1350-square foot commercial space at 1963 Hosea L Williams Drive.
Roswell's regional Italian restaurant Osteria Mattone, the concept from Table & Main's Ryan Pernice and Ted Lahey that opened at 1095 Canton St. back in November, is now serving lunch. The upscale midday menu includes salads, antipasti, pasta, a few smaller entrées, and grown-up pizzas, which can enjoyed from its charming environs in the historic downtown district.
ATL-grown culinary talent and Top Chef All-Star Richard Blais will soon open the San Diego restaurant he conspicuously departed Atlanta to establish. Dubbed Juniper & Ivy and opening in the SoCal city's Little Italy neighborhood on March 3, it will offer West Coasters diverse cuisines of the region within a nearly century-old converted warehouse at 2228 Kettner Blvd.
