Omnivore - Wild Heaven Emergency Chicken Pickin’ this Saturday

Emergency! But don’t break the glass, because it’s commemorative. This Sat., June 27, Wild Heaven Craft Beers (135 Maple Street, Decatur, 404-997-8589. wildheavencraftbeers.com) is throwing a shindig, their last before new beer laws concerning brewery tours go into effect July 1.

Emergency Drinking Beer is Wild Heaven’s first canned offering. The pilsner-esque beer is a collaboration between Paul Calvert, previously of Paper Plane and Victory Sandwich Bar. Like sunshine in a can, it’s the kind of easy drinking beer you want in your hand after yard work or while floating down the Hooch.

Celebrate on Wild Heaven’s patio starting at 7 p.m. In the entertainment department there will be brewery tours and live bluegrass from Dusty Roads. And about that chicken. Pine Street Market’s Rusty Bowers will be smoking chicken that been braised in....you guessed it, Emergency Drinking Beer on his Big Green Eggs. He will also serve up some Southern side dishes to go along with that yard bird.
