? Atlanta’s renowned visionary developer and architect, John C. Portman, Jr., has announced a December opening for his latest restaurant creation, JP Atlanta, which is slated to open in the forthcoming Hotel Indigo at 230 Peachtree St. in Peachtree Center. Almost 50 years ago, when Portman opened his celebrated Midnight Sun restaurant/supper club in Peachtree Center, it was Atlanta’s standard for fine dining. The plan is for JP Atlanta to bring a modern interpretation of the Midnight Sun experience back to Downtown Atlanta. JP Atlanta will feature breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service at the bar.

?The Taqueria on Broad, a new quick-serve spot featuring to-go as well as counter service for tacos, queso, guac, and other various handheld Mexican foods has opened at 54 Broad Street.

????What Now Atlanta reports that a new cigar and hookah concept is planned for the roof of Delightful Eatz (421 Edgewood Avenue SE). 421 Hookah Lounge, a 3,367-square-foot rooftop lounge, will open a portion of the project by the end of September. The entire project is expected to be completed by the end of 2015.

?Jay Swift (4th & Swift) and Chrysta Poulos (Rocket Farms Restaurants) will be among those repping Atlanta on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the James Beard Foundation in New York City. The foundation [http://www.jamesbeard.org/events/georgia-grown] a “Georgia Grown" dinner that will highlight the Empire State of the South’s agricultural bounty.

?On Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Veuve Clicquot’s En Route truck will be stopping at STK Atlanta for a champagne-infused evening. Each hour “Veuve on the Clock” specials will be announced, offering guests a chance to partake in a variety of champagne specials. From 6 to 6:59 p.m., sip on Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label and Non-Vintage Rosé for just $6. From 7 to 7:59 p.m., glasses go to $7 and so on until 9 p.m.

?Now through December 2015, all ten Tin Lizzy’s locations are giving 10 percent of proceeds from their signature “Sunshine Margarita” to a worthy charity. The Atlanta-based restaurant group has partnered with Sunshine On A Ranney Day, a 501(c) (3) non-profit based in Atlanta that creates dream room and home make-overs for children with long-term illnesses, to add a little sunshine to their signature drink.

?A sneak peek inside of Dolce, the Italian resto slated to open in one-percenter playground Buckhead next week, revealed a sleek and sexy spot with artwork, architecture, and a dramatic outdoor patio guaranteed to attract Atlanta’s trendinistas. John Meadow, president of LDV Hospitality, the New York-based company behind Dolce and Buckhead's Corso and American Cut, said Dolce will be “Atlanta-centric” and focused on great food and service. Meadow said the Buckhead spaces – where LDV has invested more money in than its New York portfolio – will serve as the prototypes for LDV’s future investments.
