Paris is romanticized for its beauty, its art, its food, and its sometimes smelly, always sexy inhabitants. Right outside the city, though, is La Défense, the commercial business park 3.5 miles down from the Arc de Triomphe. Part office buildings, part mall, La Défense is completely the opposite of old, picturesque Paris with its glass high-rises and modern art.
