Reed on Mitchell’s Norwood endorsement: ‘Losers!’
‘You can’t cure envy,’ he later tells V-103
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed yesterday said the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had attempted to “inflame voters,” shortly after he called Ceasar Mitchell and Mary Norwood “losers.”
The sharp language came during a press conference hosted to announced the sale agreement of the Civic Center. Asked by reporters about former mayoral candidate Mitchell’s endorsement of Norwood’s bid, Reed responded: “One man, one woman, two losers,” according to the AJC.
Norwood, who’s faced with Reed’s mayoral pick Keisha Lance Bottoms in the runoff race, quickly demanded an apology, but to no avail. Reed took to V-103’s airwaves this morning and said of the drama, “You can’t cure envy.”
