Atlanta’s second 365 by Whole Foods Market concept will open in Buckhead's Paces Ferry Plaza shopping center. The Buckhead store will feature “a curated mix of products that adhere to the company’s industry-leading quality standards in an environment that’s enjoyable and convenient for shoppers.” The first Atlanta 365 is slated to open in Decatur.
Following a growing national trend, James Beard Award nominee Staplehouse is going full à la carte beginning Thurs., Sept. 1. The owners of the nationally renowned Old Fourth Ward restaurant will abandon their tasting menu in favor of à la carte options in order to host more diners inside, on the patio, and in the private dining room. They also hope to host more large parties and will likely expand their hours a bit in the near future.
Burger 21 has signed an agreement to develop two additional restaurants in Midtown and Sandy Springs over the next two years. The “chef-driven” Tampa-based burger chain specializes in chicken, turkey, vegetarian, shrimp, and tuna burgers. Currently, Burger 21 has locations in Buckhead, Johns Creek, Mall of Georgia, and Snellville, and a restaurant is coming soon to Kennesaw.
Midtown’s Saltwood Charcuterie and Bar has hired chef Michael Brookshire as its new top toque. Brookshire has more than 10 years of restaurant experience and joins the team from Hilton Hawaii Village Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu.
The 2016 Taste of Buckhead will be held on Thurs., Sept. 15 at the Stave Room at American Spirit Works (formerly the Mason Murer Art Gallery) in the Sweetwater Design District on Armour Circle. More than 25 restaurants, breweries, vendors, and distilleries will offer samples and tastings. Proceeds from the Spirit Wall at this year’s Taste of Buckhead will benefit the Giving Kitchen.
