Deborah Bond falls through Atlanta
The Washington D.C. songstress rocks a sound that blends soul with jazz, funk, downtempo, and more
Debórah Bond may be serving as the opening act for Incognito when the band hits Atlanta this Thurs., Oct. 27, but she’s far from a neophyte to the music game. The Washington, D.C. vocalist has garnered accolades and fans since stepping onto the scene with her 2003 debut album, DayAfter. Rocking a sound that blends soul with jazz, funk, downtempo, and more, Bond has shared the stage with heavyweights like Rahsaan Patterson, Eric Roberson, Floetry, Mint Condition, Ledisi, and Frank McComb, among others. Catch her when she takes the stage this week, performing songs such as the acid jazz-tinged track “See You In My Dreams” and the guitar-driven “Perfect,” from her trio of solo projects and other goodies. And see what’s she’s been cultivating for the past 10-plus years.
Debórah Bond plays Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on Thurs., Oct. 27. With Incognito ft. Maysa $33-$86. 8 p.m. 2800 Cobb Galleria Parkway. www.cobbenergycentre.com.
