At just 29 years old, Jason Fisher, longtime sous chef at Italian-inspired downtown Decatur mainstay No. 246, is battling a very rare form of cancer for the second time in two years.

To raise money for his medical expenses, Fisher’s Atlanta restaurant family is teaming up to host two different events this Sunday in his honor.

Eat the Wild: Kimball House, Pine Street Market, Riverview Farms, Three Taverns Brewery and Kudu Safari Braai team up to celebrate spring and support their comrade with an afternoon barbecue in the garden. Centered around an open fire, the chefs will be cooking up lamb al asador, grilled oysters, whole roasted chickens, vegetable-stuffed suckling pigs, sausages and veggies. Wash down your carnivorous feast with Three Taverns beer and Kimball House cocktails. Tickets include all meats and one complimentary beer. A portion of the proceeds will go to Fisher's fund.

$40. 2-6 p.m. Sun., March 26. Kimball House. 303 E. Howard Ave., Decatur. 404-378-3502. www.kimball-house.com.

Backyard Potluck: Local charity the Giving Kitchen and an army of acclaimed Atlanta chefs will gather for a backyard potluck extravaganza in Fisher's honor. Chefs onboard include Anne Quatrano, Brandon McGlamery, Nick Melvin, Gerry Klaskala, Todd Richards, Linton Hopkins, Chris Hall, Billy Allin, Hector Santiago and the Fox Bros. Cold beer and cocktails will come from Terrapin and Heaven Hill Distilleries, with ping pong and live bluegrass in the courtyard. Entry is free, but donations can (and should!) be made at www.gofundme.com/jasonfisher.

$40 suggested donation. 5-8 p.m. Sun., March 26. No. 246, 129 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur. 678-399-8246. www.no246.com.   <span times="" new="" roman";="" mso-hansi-theme-font:minor-latin"="">
