See and Do: ATLarge Music Film Festival

The 'festival for people who love music' debuts October 27-29

The film and television industry in Georgia generated $9.5 billion in economic impact this year, so what better place than the Southern hub of entertainment to premiere the first ATLarge Music Film Festival? For those who don't know, "music films' are movies biopics, documentaries, music videos, shorts and even virtual reality where music is the lifeblood and central theme. That's the focus of the ATLarge Music Film Festival, which goes down October 27-29 and will showcase films like Horac Tapscott: Musical Griot and Grace Jones: Bloodlight and Bami, among many others. The festival that also features educational workshops, panel discussions and more is the brainchild of founders Rob Ganger and Jason Staten who created the event to bring music and film creators together in the hopes of bringing attention to this underrepresented genre. $8.
