Emory professor wins NAACP Award for novel

Tayari Jones, professor of English and creative writing at Emory University, was awarded the NAACP Image Award for fiction for her novel “An American Marriage.”

Professor Jones' book made Oprah's 2018 book list and was a New York Times bestseller.

According to the Emory Press Release, "The NAACP Image Awards celebrate the accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature, and film, as well as people or groups who promote social justice or creative endeavors.
