NEWS BRIEF: Former Serenbe Playhouse founder still raising controversy, theatre group says
Accusations of racism, unfair and unsafe work practices, inappropriate sexual advances, and gender discrimination are resurfacing against theatrical director Brian Clowdus, founder of Atlanta’s now-defunct Serenbe Playhouse, now that he is running for office in Florida. A new report from American Theatre says Clowdus eluded the consequences of his actions “and has gone on to reinvent himself as a Trumpist impresario.” Clowdus maintains he is innocent and a victim of “cancel culture.” americantheatre.org
