NEWS BRIEF: Fulton remains most populated county in Georgia
In the past decade, the population of Fulton County grew by 15.9%, from 920,581 to 1,066,710, housing roughly 10 percent of Georgia's population. Figures released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Aug. 12 show Fulton County is still the most populous county in the state and the only one with a population above 1 million. County chairman Robb Pitts said in a press release, “The new census data tells us what we already know — Fulton County is the population center, the business center, and the cultural center of this state.” census.gov/data
