An e-commerce website based in College Park called We Buy Black is supporting a slew of Black-owned businesses by promoting their products, all of which are created by people of African descent. Site founder Shareef Abdul-Malik designed the platform to enable vendors to sell on it for a commission, similar to the Amazon model. Online shoppers at We Buy Black can access 100,000 items sold by 12,000 Black-owned businesses, Abdul-Malik said.
