The daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. took a stand for federal voting rights legislation this week during an address at The King Center in Atlanta. Bernice King expressed frustration at the lack of progress on the issue for which there is “a very urgent need,” but she believes legislation could pass and said dialogue and engagement with Republicans is key. “This is not just a Black issue,” she said. “This is an issue about democracy.” theatlantavoice.com
