NEWS BRIEF: Designs revealed for tower at Centennial Yards
Industrial and railroad heritage of area incorporated
Atlantans are getting a first look at designs unveiled for a downtown building that forms the nucleus of the Centennial Yards master plan. Photos released by architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill show a 28-story structure comprising three slender towers with a façade inspired by the area’s industrial and railroad heritage. With over 500,000 square feet of office space, One Centennial Yards “includes numerous open-air environments through a series of terraces on each floor that provide alternative workspaces and expansive views of the city,” a press release states. “Our design is built upon the market’s desire for flexible, efficient and amenitized environments,” says Paul Danna, a partner at the firm. He adds the building is designed with the post-pandemic workspace in mind, providing tenants with opportunities to gather and connect outdoors. archinect.com
