NEWS BRIEF: Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosting virtual STEAM program for school kids
Goal is to show ‘how careers align’
An educational program for students to learn properties of the curriculum known as STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics) is being presented by Mercedes-Benz Stadium through a partnership with Georgia Power. The MBS STEAM Tour Experience, rolling out this month, introduces virtual tours of the facility conducted by robots, showing students “how the STEAM elements operate within the building and how careers align within the sports and entertainment industry,” officials explained. “The 60-90-minute experience covers education in areas such as building design and engineering elements, sustainability, sports and nutrition education.” The initiative is aimed at Title 1 public schools with high percentages of students in poverty. mercedesbenzstadium.com
