A matinee performance on Sunday of Gustav Mahler’s opus Symphony No. 3 marked the farewell appearance of longtime conductor Robert Spano on the stage of Atlanta Symphony Hall.

Spano was joined by mezzo-soprano Kelley O’Connor, a frequent collaborator, as well as former principal percussionist Thomas Sherwood, women of the ASO Chorus and members of the Georgia Boy Choir.

The 61-year-old maestro will continue his association with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra as Music Director Laureate while Nathalie Stutzmann assumes the role of conductor and director in the fall. earrelevant.net
