Mercedes-Benz Stadium has diverted 90% of waste from landfills

Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta has become the first venue in professional sports to be awarded a Total Resource Use and Efficiency pre-certification for its efforts in effectively achieving zero-waste status, a press release announced.

Since March of 2022, MBS has diverted from landfills 90 percent of waste generated from all major events, officials say. “Since construction, Mercedes-Benz Stadium has been committed to creating a sustainable environment both in and around the stadium to reduce our overall environmental footprint,” COO Dietmar Exler says. “This is just the next step in our overall journey.” Details: mercedesbenzstadium.com
