Making sports dreams come true

The fourth annual 44 Classic is coming to Truist Park this month after previously being played at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers. Presented by the Atlanta Braves and Nike on Saturday, Sep. 24, and Sunday, Sep. 25, the weekend will feature top diverse high school baseball talent from the Southeast, including those from the Braves’ RBI Fall Development Program, organizers announced.

Professional scouts and college coaches will watch players participate in a pro-style workout that includes a 60-yard dash, throwing and fielding drills, and batting practice; Braves alumni Marquis Grissom, Marvin Freeman, and Johnny Estrada will coach the athletes in a free exhibition game as well. In welcoming them to Truist Park, Braves CEO Derek Schiller says, “In addition to creating access and exposure for these young players, hopefully the Major League setting will also remind them what they are capable of.” Details: mlb.com
