Congolese center played basketball for almost two decades
National Basketball Association All-Star Dikembe Mutombo is undergoing treatment for a brain tumor, the league announced Saturday, saying in a statement, “He is receiving the best possible care from a collaborative team of specialists in Atlanta and is in great spirits as he begins treatment.” The 56-year-old Congolese center spent almost two decades playing with the Atlanta Hawks, Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets, among others. Mutombo, who stands 7 feet 2 inches tall, was inducted into the sport’s Hall of Fame in 2015.
