Keeping a Body: An Invitation at The Bakery is a Photovoice exhibition featuring work by trans people of color, exploring themes of identity, embodiment, and joy through photography and mixed media.

Presented as both an exhibition and an invitation, the project centers lived experience and self-representation, creating space for artists to share personal narratives around gender, visibility, and community. The works engage with the complexities of embodiment while foregrounding moments of affirmation, resilience, and celebration.

Featuring work by Angie Wheelis, Venus Rosemond, Valeska Freire, Kara Jones, and V Starks, the exhibition brings together a range of perspectives that reflect the diversity and richness of trans experiences.
