Small Moments of Happiness at Midtown Atlanta
Flux Projects activates Midtown Atlanta with temporary public artworks, performances, and installations designed to create unexpected moments of joy.

CRITIC’S PICK:
Flux Projects Presents Small Moments of Happiness, Midtown Atlanta — A public art series is opening outdoors in June along Peachtree Street, between 10th and 16th streets, and will continue until the fall. Among the dozen or so artists featured is Dorothy O’Connor, whose installation of a hundred handcrafted birds depicts them soaring above the trees. Robert Ladislas Derr, Katie DiGiovanna and Sanithna Phansavanh have contributed to the series as well.
Those trees also will be adorned with large-scale pop art monkeys, and organizers are scheduling performances, chats, public readings and benches of ice to sit on during hot days, plus a few other “surprises.” — Kevin C. Madigan
About the Project
Small Moments of Happiness is a new series designed to integrate brief but meaningful encounters with art into daily life in Atlanta. Projects will take place along the Peachtree Street corridor, anchored between 14th Street and 16th Street, during summer and fall 2026, activating public spaces with temporary installations and performances.
These works interrupt familiar routines and create shared moments of happiness among friends, neighbors, and strangers. The project aims to spark curiosity, create space for reflection, and invite people to experience the city and one another with fresh eyes.
