The Legacy of KAOS
A major exhibition tracing the history of the legendary KAOS graffiti crew from its Bronx origins to its lasting influence on Atlanta's street art and contemporary art communities.
Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery presents The Legacy of KAOS, an exhibition exploring the history and cultural impact of the influential graffiti and style-writing collective KAOS Inc.
Founded in 1982 in the Bronx, New York, Krush Art On Subways (KAOS) emerged during the formative years of New York City's subway graffiti movement. In 1983, leadership of the crew passed to Web One, whose innovative approach to lettering and style established him as one of the most respected figures in graffiti culture.
In 2004, Web One relocated to Atlanta and established a new chapter of KAOS in the city. Over the following two decades, KAOS became one of Atlanta's most significant style-writing crews, bringing together artists from diverse backgrounds and practices.
The exhibition chronicles the crew's evolution from its New York roots to its role within Atlanta's creative landscape. Featured works include contributions from freight train writers, graphic designers, style-writing purists, and fine artists, highlighting the broad spectrum of artistic practices represented within the collective.
Organization: KAOS Inc.
Venue: Eyedrum Art & Music Gallery
