WonderRoot presents a solo exhibition of Jess Hill’s Oasis of Otherness. Through her work, Hill explores herself and her family through aspects of other cultures in order to remedy the void she experiences in her American culture. This void, she believes, was formed in people of African descent when they were deprived of their roots in an attempt to dehumanize and demoralize them.
