METZ two-night stand at 529
From the venue:
Toronto noise rock trio METZ return to Atlanta Sept. 5-6 for a searing two-night stand. Touring in support of the group’s third LP, the Steve Albini-produced Strange Peace, singer and guitar player Alex Edkins, drummer Hayden Menzies and bass player Chris Slorach continue to hone their punishing brand of post-hardcore. “Cellophane,” Strange Peace’s first single, is an anthemic yet foreboding stomper, showcasing the band’s penchant for tightly wound discord. An absolutely exhilarating live act, METZ’s sets are brutal, nonstop blasts of disciplined dissonance. Edkin’s sneering vocals swoop amidst bass guitar twitches and pummeling drums, making for an oddly infectious sound and wholly captivating experience. With Death Stuff, Motherfucker, Vincas, Material Girls, DiCaprio and Maximum Busy Muscle.
